Homes matter. Everyone deserves a simple, decent place to live.

Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners is an ecumenical partnership of Grosse Pointe churches dedicated to supporting the work of Habitat for Humanity. The mission of the Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners organization is to assist low income housing organizations accomplish their goals of rebuilding Michigan communities one house and one family at a time.

The GP Partners help to secure funding for new, and existing house projects, provide muscle and brains to work the homebuilding job sites, and plan activities to welcome the new homeowners to their dwelling. We uphold the mission of Habitat for Humanity Detroit:

“Habitat for Humanity Detroit, in partnership with God and families in need of adequate housing, brings together people from all walks of life to revitalize Detroit neighborhoods through the construction of decent affordable homes.”

Volunteering

Second Saturday Builds

GPPartners hold a monthly volunteer work day known as our “Second Saturday” Build Day. Prior construction or handyman experience is welcome, though all skill levels are needed. Parishioners of member churches will likely see periodic notices and updates regarding Habitat in your church bulletin, newsletter, or other parish communications. Please contact your church’s GP Partners liaison or your outreach coordinator and tell them you are interested in Habitat projects. Check the Habitat GPP page on Facebook for upcoming events.

Non-member Churches

GP Partners welcome the addition of other churches and faith-based organizations in the Pointes. Let your clergy know you’d like to add Habitat as an outreach activity. Start participating to help Habitat Detroit reach its goals by attending any GP Partners monthly planning meeting or a Second Saturday build.
